  1. From Fr. Francois re: tax letters:
About tax letters for those that make donations for the medical mission trip and for all of you, once we get back, I will put them in the mail. Your expenses for the trip are tax deductible. Please, save your receipts. Once we get back, please e-mail me names and addresses of all benefactors, including you, so that I can have the tax letters for all of you. I am looking forward to seeing and working with all of you. May God bless you!

    Rev. Yves Francois

  2. I wanted to say that the job that was done on this mission was amazing. I am blessed to have been able to be a part of such wonderful acts. Everyone did such a great job and I am so happy to have been there to share it with all of you. It was great to work with everyone. I have a great respect for the doctors and nurses who were able to offer their wonderful services. I want to say that because of Becky I have a new found respect for pharmacists. I hope that we can continue to help the people in Chantel and for the hospitiality that was offered to us by the nuns. (Sister Mona) This experience has motivated me to inspires others to help out as well. And thank you and God bless Father Yves for giving me the opportunity to go and help.

  3. Quick reminder: when doing back-to-school shopping, look for super-deals — like 25 cent/large box of crayons and 50 cent/dozen pens and pencils– as gifts for the Chantal schools and the children we see next January. Ask your child’s teachers if their classes might like to do a vitamin drive and write pen-pal letters to go with them. If you have a French immersion classes in your town, ask if they’d donate some of the non-text kids’ books they cull each year or if they might like to adopt the Chantal school as a twin school. We can pre-ship these to Sister Nicolle.
Let me know if you belong to Rotary Club in your community: we are looking for a matching grant.
Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing summer, especially Father Yves!

  4. Exciting news: led by Rotary Club of Centreville, 6 Rotary Clubs in Virginia have grouped together on a District Simplified Grant application. It is for the purchase of a used dental chair, 4 oto-opthalmoscopes and rechargeable tympanic thermometers as well as meds for the next trip! We’ll know in a few weeks if it gets approved: cross your fingers. Pray for Joy’s back!
